Our accreditation from the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB) is important to us - but why should it be important to you?
The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) is the most widely recognised professional body for acupuncture.
It is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, which is accountable to Parliament. The British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB) is the accreditation wing of the BAcC. The BAAB inspect us every five years, to check that our training and education adheres to their rigorous professional standards. Studying at a BAAB accredited college enables you to apply to become a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) (subject to their own checks, such as fitness to practice) once you have completed your training. BAcC membership shows your potential patients that you have received the highest standard of education and training in the UK.
Validation and government recognition is important to us - but why should it be important to you?
We work in collaboration with Health Sciences University (HSU) which is the validating and awarding body of the following courses: BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture. More information about HSU can be found here: https://www.hsu.ac.uk/. We are also registered with the Office for Students (OFS) who are the statutory regulatory body for Higher Education in England and we are reviewed by them for the quality of our courses. This means that the College and our BSc in Acupuncture meet the government requirements for course quality, academic standards, student support and protection and more. It also means our students can access student funding to help pay for the course.

"I am proud to be a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). I have confidence that the professional standards set by the BAcC for their members ensure safe practice. The BAcC provide their members with support on a range of topics including health and safety, marketing or how to approach a tricky case. The knowledge of members from which I can call on is extensive. There are expert recorded lectures on a wide range of topics for members to access. The BAcC encourages and supports its members in undertaking new evidence-based research. It was invaluable experience for me to present my research poster on "What dosages of acupuncture do UK practitioners use when treating endometriosis" at the annual ARRC conference. The annual conference is a fun way to meet colleagues and attend world leading lectures and workshops."
