Email

At the start of your course you will be allocated an nca.ac.uk email address, in the form . Both individual personal communications with students and communications with student groups will normally be via e-mail, and in order to ensure compliance with GDPR we will always use your nca.ac.uk email address for this purpose.

You can set up your email software (e.g. Outlook) so you can see emails to your personal email address(es) and to your nca.ac.uk address all in one place. There is guidance on this in the Help section of the Virtual Learning Environment (“The VLE”).

It is also important that you ensure the Northern College of Acupuncture always has your ‘up to date’ personal e-mail details in case we should need to use this to contact you. Please report any changes to the Student Services Team.

The College makes regular use of e-mails to contact student cohorts and to contact individual students, and there will be VLE posts in the appropriate forums in relation to your learning, so please check the VLE and your nca e-mails at least several times every week.

We encourage you to use e-mail when contacting the College. Our staff are known for their responsiveness and support for students, but please note that staff may not always be able to respond immediately to your e-mail as most of them work part-time. Please allow up to five of their working days for a response.

When you finish your course your nca.ac.uk email, and your access to NCA accounts including the VLE and Office 365, will be closed after the NCA graduation ceremony. You will receive an email warning you before this happens. If you need to maintain your nca email address for longer, for example when publishing a research project, you can ask us to do this.
