Turnitin
Most written assignments to be submitted electronically are submitted via Turnitin.
The ‘Induction’ course on the VLE will allow you to submit a trial submission of a very short ‘assignment’. This is purely to get you used to the process for submitting via Turnitin.
There are numerous help guides on the VLE connected to Turnitin submission, review of the Originality report and download of your originality report or Grademark.
We strongly recommend students take advantage of the Originality report, in good time before the deadline for submission of the assignment. This is a good way of ensuring your referencing is correct and your assignment is written in your own words – and that your own words have not appeared in another previously submitted piece of work!
We also strongly recommend students download and store the Grademark report on their own devices. These contain some useful feedback, and your grademark reports will otherwise not be available to you after you finish your course.
Turnitin assignments will, in most cases, allow submission after the due date; these submissions will be flagged as ‘late’. However, students must still follow the appropriate procedures for asking for a short extension, or for a student support discussion leading to a support plan to allow for a longer deadline. Late submissions without known and approved cause will be treated as outlined in the section on Penalties for Late Submission.
