Replacement Certificates and Transcripts Procedure
This procedure will be used when an alumnus requests a replacement copy of:
- a) A College Professional Diploma certificate or a University certificate; or
- b) An academic transcript.
NCA Professional Diploma Certificates
Replacement Professional Diploma Certificates are now issued electronically and may differ in appearance to the original certificate you received.
The cost for a replacement certificate is £30. A replacement NCA Professional Diploma certificate can be produced upon receipt of the following:
- a signed request from yourself
- a print or scan of the photo page of your passport, or scan or photocopy of your photo driver’s licence.
Provision of the following information will enable the College to process your request in a timely fashion:
- Your student number;
- Your full name (the name used when you were studying);
- Your date of birth;
- The course you studied; and
- The years of study.
University degree certificates
Universities will not normally issue additional copies of a degree certificate; there can only be one in existence. They may however be able to provide a certified copy, or a replacement.
If you have damaged your certificate, your University may replace it free of charge on receipt of returning the damaged original. A charge is imposed for replacing lost certificates, which is currently:
- £30 for the University of Wales
- £35 for University of Central Lancashire
- £65 for Middlesex University
- £35 for London South Bank University
- £60 for the University College of Osteopathy
- £60 for the Health Sciences University
Requirements for proof of identity vary, but it is likely you will be asked to provide a signed statement confirming the original has been either lost or destroyed, and/or:
- Your student number;
- Your full name (the name used when you were studying);
- Your date of birth;
- The course you studied; and
- The years of study.
Contact the relevant University through their website to arrange your replacement – www.wales.ac.uk, www.uclan.ac.uk, www.mdx.ac.uk, https://alumni.lsbu.ac.uk/, https://www.uco.ac.uk/
Transcripts
The College can provide a replacement transcript for students, including those who obtained their diploma before programmes were validated by a university. This will be produced upon receipt of a signed request accompanied by a print or scan of the photo page of your passport, or scan or photocopy of your photo driver’s licence. The cost for a replacement academic transcript is £30. Provision of the following information will enable the College to process your request in a timely fashion:
- Your student number;
- Your full name (the name used when you were studying);
- Your date of birth;
- The course you studied; and
- The years of study.
NCA might need to refer you to your validating university for a copy of your transcript. Most transcripts can be produced by NCA, so always check with us first. If you are referred to the university, please note their costs in providing transcripts:
- University of Central Lancashire: £10.
- University of Wales: £20.
- London South Bank University: £35.
