NCA5003 Clinical Reality 1
This module aims to bring a realistic view of clinical practice into student awareness, ensuring that expectations of post-graduate practice are grounded and pragmatic and that students are best equipped to enter practice. This module explores the more common presenting complaints from both Chinese Medicine and Biomedicine perspectives. Students will explore how to effectively advise and inform patients; how to communicate effectively and appropriately with other medical practitioners; and how to foster further appreciation of the emotional and spiritual dimensions of acupuncture.
The module provides the opportunity to holistically examine a range of disease categories including gynaecology, pathologies of the head; digestive disorders; dermatology; genito-urinary medicine; and musculoskeletal disorders. You will also progress and deepen your research skills, building on the skills that you learned in your 1st year.
