NCA4001 Foundations of Clinical Practice

The module aims to prepare students for working in a clinical setting by providing the opportunity to learn and practise crucial clinical skills including point location, pulse taking, cupping, and moxibustion. Clinical skills are demonstrated by experienced tutors and practised by students in pairs in a classroom setting. Assessment involves these skills then being demonstrated by the students back to the tutors.

The module introduces students to the teaching clinic environment, initially in an observational capacity. Some remote participative attendance may be involved.

The module enables students to consider the importance of advising patients on diet and lifestyle to benefit therapeutic outcomes.
