Let’s hear from some of our recent graduates and their plans:

Sarah Simpson

NCA Graduate Sarah Simpson

"Acupuncture has changed my life - first as a patient and now as a graduate from the NCA. I previously had been running toddler gym classes but felt that it wasn’t a job I could see myself wanting to do forever. It was whilst doing that job that I was rather poorly and only got better due to acupuncture treatments I received. It created a curiosity in me and after some research and looking into places to study acupuncture I found the NCA. From the initial enquiry to graduating the support from all the staff and tutors at the NCA has been amazing. Now not only has my love and understanding of acupuncture grown, I have my very own clinic which is developing into a thriving business and I am also working as an assistant tutor at the NCA - helping new students find their feet in points classes. I feel very fortunate that I am now in the position that I can help others, whilst making a living doing something that I love. There is no doubt about it that studying acupuncture at the NCA is life changing!"

"I am working at Learn to Heal’ - an acupuncture clinic in Pocklington a market town close to York. This amazing opportunity came knocking on my door when I was asked to volunteer on reception, which eventually led me to become part of the practitioner team. I am working with two experienced acupuncturists Sam and Paul, who are very supportive and are always there to offer some guidance, reassurance or to chat about all things TCM. Every day is a learning day, and my passion for TCM continues to grow. I plan to continue to grow as a practitioner and potentially dive deeper into acupuncture and women’s health, but for now, I am keeping the door open and exploring all areas. I am also travelling to India in early 2024 as part of the ‘World Acupuncture’ team treating patients in rural Gujerat- an amazing learning experience at the start of my career."

Danny Long

NCA Graduate Danny Long

"After starting out as a practitioner of Tuina Chinese massage, I feel very fortunate to have studied acupuncture at the NCA where the exceptionally knowledgeable staff and teachers offered outstanding teaching and support. I am especially appreciative of their excellent approach to evidence-based acupuncture research. Feeling confident (and equipped with everything I have learned) I am currently studying in China to continue my professional development. After this, I plan to build my business ‘Healing Qi Ltd’ and open a clinic to offer a fully comprehensive service of Chinese medicine in my hometown of Manchester."

The Graduate Perspective

Irena Lenc

"As soon as I graduated in August 2022, I started practising at the Heaton Acupuncture Clinic, the very same clinic where I had been a patient for five years. Receiving my own set of keys was an incredible thrill. I can say with joy that there is nothing left of that stressed, sad, anxious woman who was dragging her feet to get to work and could not wait until Friday. I can’t wait to go to work! I wish there were more hours in a day, and I can only say that studying acupuncture at NCA was one of the best decisions of my life."
