NCA offer acupuncture courses to students from London

We know that there are some great colleges in and around London that are closer to home - but if you already have a degree, we have some good news for you! At the NCA in York, you can get a student loan on our BSc in Acupuncture to help pay for your course. Our Four Year (part-time) BSc in Acupuncture is the only BAAB accredited acupuncture course in the UK where you can get student funding if you already have a degree. With us, you’ll be earning while you’re learning.

York by rail is closer than you think = less travel time

York is on the main East Coast rail line, and there are trains from London Kings Cross to York every 30 minutes. Most trains take under 2 hours to journey between the cities. Plus, once you step out onto the platform of York station, and you are only a short walk to the NCA. Our acupuncture courses are taught right in the heart of this beautiful historic city.

Study on the train = a great use of your time

Many of the London-based students learning acupuncture with NCA find the travel the perfect opportunity to study. The only distraction from your work on the train is the beautiful scenery rolling by!

Student railcard = huge travel savings

You will be able to buy a student railcard that takes a third off the cost off your rail travel. If you plan your trips in advance using your railcard, you will be surprised at how reasonable the cost of the ticket can be.

Online and in-college learning = best of both worlds

The good news is that you don’t need to travel to York for all your classes – about a third of your classes at the NCA are taught online.

Convenient class start times = travel up on Saturday morning

Most London-based students on our acupuncture courses choose to study at weekends (although, weekday is also an option). They travel to York for weekends and stay overnight on Saturday to make the most of their time here. Saturday classes start at 10am, so it is easy to get to York on Saturday morning.

Our London acupuncture teaching clinic is now open (on Thursdays) based in the Health Sciences University teaching clinic in Southbank. For students travelling from London your clinic days can now be arranged in our London clinic saving you even more travel time (and expense).

Many of our London students take advantage of our local accommodation providers. These trusted hosts offer rooms to rent that are close to college and cost around £25-£35 per night for bed and breakfast.
